It has been a long time that 60163 TORNADO has been nearly ready to begin running-in trials at the GCR. We were promised also the locomotive would operate some passenger services when it was proved safe for it to do so. These runs took place first over the weekend bridging August and September 2024. The newly overhauled locomotive looked superb, performed perfectly and treated all that attended to a great day out whatever our interest. The timetable, that involved all trains running the entire length of the line, proved to be robust also.
