My visit to the GCR on Saturday 12 the August 2023 was shorter than usual for two reasons. The weather forecast for the morning period was very poor and I didn’t wake up until quite late. I just made it to Rushey Lane in time for the 12:00 from Loughborough. That however was sufficient time to photograph the diesel and both steam locomotives each hauling two trains in the up direction and the diesel twice heading north later in the day. There was no point in photographing steam hauled down trains when they were running tender first. It was billed as a Vintage Vehicle weekend but I was too busy to see what was on offer at Quorn.
