From this first shot the photographic challenge is obvious. The sun was a very bright orange sphere in the south-western sky and the station approach was lit only by the cold light from a clear blue sky. The exposure had to be for the shadows to retain detail in the trains. The picture shows DMU 172 339 approaching Droitwich Spa with 1V29, the 14:50 from Birmingham New Street to Hereford, on Saturday 20th November 2021.
