My second day at the 2020 GCR Winter Steam Gala was Sunday 26th January. The weather forecast was poor but I awoke to bright sunshine and thought "make the most of this while it lasts". There were many other photographers that were clearly of the same opinion. Unfortunately 4953 had failed so 6990 replaced it's booked workings and Ivatt 46521 was turned to face south and worked the trains originally assigned to 4953. For me, the highlight of the event was to see the 1903 veteran NER railcar at work on the line. As was to be expected the weather turned wet by lunchtime and I saw no point in getting soaked.
