I have been waiting patiently all year so far hoping that new build 6880 BETTON GRANGE will visit “The Battlefield Line” for testing/running in purposes. When the latest Steam Railway magazine claimed that this was likely before the end of March, I decided that I should make a visit. Their website had been showing motive power TBC for over a week but that is not unusual with this particular railway. Surely for Easter they would at least turn out a locomotive; probably 33 201. As is so often the case, I was late leaving home so I drove alongside the line hoping to see steam but I had reached Shenton before I saw the train, a two car DMU. Disappointed, I decided to photograph the unit twice before packing up and going home.
