“The Shakespeare Express” on Sunday 24th August 2024 reverted to the traditional pattern of two round trips between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stratford-upon-Avon. The outward runs were with the steam locomotive tender first along the North Warwickshire Line through Henley-in-Arden. Returns were along the main line through Dorridge, accessed by the single line from Bearley Junction through Claverdon and the slip from Hatton West to Hatton North Junction. Everything ran as planned with 7029 CLUN CASTLE supported by Class 37 240 diesel electric.
