Although the station at Newton-le-Willows has been extensively modernised, the old station building has undergone a sympathetic restoration. It forms a suitable background to Peppercorn A1 Class 8P 4-6-2 60163 TORNADO which was hauling "The Ticket to Ride" excursion on Saturday 19th September 2020.
