Built at Horwich in 1959, 08 528 is the TOPS number carried by D3690 in its later years of service. In preservation the locomotive has operated mainly as D3690 but was repainted in plain black with an unshaded yellow radiator in October 2020 and renumbered 08 528 with large heraldic crests on the body sides.
