In an attempt to attract passengers to book on the first trains on the GCR following the Covid-19 lockdown a steam locomotive and a diesel locomotive were displayed in Quorn Goods Yard. On Sunday 26th July 2020 Class 5MT 4-6-0 45305 ALDERMAN A.E. DRAPER and Class 37 714 CARDIFF CANTON were seen shortly after they left Loughborough ahead of the ECS for the first passenger train.
