On Thursday 28th November 2019 Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 44871 replaced Gresley A4 Class 8P 4-6-2 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA for the Norwich to York run of "The York Yuletide Express". The weather was rather better than that either expected or forecast and the train ran reasonably close to schedule.
