The opportunity to photograph Railway Touring Company’s “Coast to Coast Express” was limited to just one location on the return leg at Sherburn-in-Elmet. By the time the train had left York the weather was decidedly dull, but fortunately the rain held off. Unfortunately, Black Five 4-6-0 44871 was running late towards a red signal as it approached Milford Junction without any apparent reason so there was very little action to record in the photographs.
