BR(ER) A3 Class 7P 4-6-2 Flying Scotsman visited GCR(N) in May 2026. The visit was used to help raise funds for reunification of the two sections of the Great Central Railway, either side of the Midland main line through Loughborough. How successful the fund raising has been remains to be seen but rides behind Scotsman are always popular and train loading seemed to be good. I photographed just one train, out and back from Ruddington, on Sunday 24th May 2026. I must confess to having arranged the photographs of Flying Scotsman as though they were taken on a single southbound journey and the diesel, D8154, appears to be running North.
