After the most enjoyable visit to the Midland Railway Centre and West Shed on Saturday 20th April 2024, I returned to the much more mundane on Sunday 21st April with, yet another, visit to the Great Central in and around Loughborough. While it wasn’t exactly a Gala, a special timetable was in operation giving a few more photographic opportunities. Unusually for the GC the published timetable on the internet was significantly different from the actual timetable; there was a goods train and the DMU was replaced by a diesel locomotive that worked both freight and passenger turns. All in all, it was another enjoyable day out watching and photographing trains.
