I was determined to return to The Battlefield Line as soon in 2024 as possible to see and photograph Large Prairie Tank 5199 in some of the better locations, assuming that the weather and ground conditions had improved. New Years Day seemed to be a very suitable choice; it was dry, reasonably bright but not yet cold and frosty as forecast for the near future. On this visit I concentrated on the section between Shackerstone and Market Bosworth but avoided the long walks through the fields that give access to bridges near Congerstone and just north of Market Bosworth. I finished the day at Shackerstone Station and, after the last steam hauled train had departed. I concluded the day with some shots of the diesel locomotives that were visible in the yard.
