On Saturday 5th December 2015 two steam specials converged on Lincoln for "The Lindum Fayre". The train from Birmingham was hauled by Castle Class 4-6-0 EARL OF MOUNT EDGCUMBE and that from London featured Princess Coronation 4-6-2 DUCHESS OF SUTHERLAND. This was the day when storm "Desmond" created havoc in the north west with very strong gale force winds and record torrential rain. I made the right choice to head east where only strong winds caused difficulty.
