Our visit to the East Lancashire Railway on Saturday 15th April 2017 was to photograph specifically 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA following completion of an intermediate overhaul. Only after arriving at the railway did we discover that 60009 had failed the previous evening and would not run again over the Easter holiday period. All things considered the railway did well and we enjoyed our visit. It has to be hoped that the A4's problems can be rectified soon.
