With no mainline steam scheduled on Saturday 2nd September 2017 the obvious choice was a day at the GCR. Nothing special was expected but, with the diesel gala only a week away, one might be forgiven for thinking that the diesel slot might have featured something more enterprising than the DMU running as a power twin.
