The Jubilee Buxton Spa Express had been advertised for some time and we waited in vain for detailed times expecting steam haulage outward from Leicester to Buxton and returning from there to Barrow Hill via the outskirts of Manchester. Eventually searching realtimetrains directly showed the train had been re-routed, rescheduled and reorganised to run with steam haulage from Barrow Hill to Buxton via Sheffield then returning to Humberstone Road, Leicester, from where the steam locomotive would move eventually to the Nene Valley Railway. The steam haulage was very successful, essentially to time and with some quite dramatic exhaust.
