The weekend of 14-15th August 2021 was the GCR Railways at Work special event. It was not a full blown Gala like so many in the past but the second post Covid event to allow staff to re-adjust to the pressure that such events must create. With five steam and two diesel locomotives as well as the DMU in action there was plenty going on. True, not everything went according to plan, but the event showcased a wide variety of trains and rolling stock. It must have provided much useful experience for the coming Autumn Gala which, I am sure, we are all looking forward to enjoying.
