"The Cumbrian Mountain Express" on Saturday 13th July 2019 involved a northbound run over Shap from Carnforth to Carlisle followed by a southbound return over the S & C to Preston via Blacckburn. Steam haulage was by 45690 LEANDER and the electric stages involved 86 259 (choose a name that suits). LEANDER was on top form and ran close to time throughout but some problem south of Preston made the return running very late indeed.
