Sunday 21st May 2023 was just another day to visit the GCR and watch the trains go by. However, it was blessed with a very good weather forecast so promised potentially good photographs. This was true certainly for the morning period but, as so often occurs in the Charnwood area, clouds developed around mid-day that persisted well into the afternoon. Still with the largest and the smallest mixed traffic standard steam locomotives and the iconic Class 50 diesel electric in service the photographic opportunities were most satisfactory.
