Vintage Trains were extremely fortunate to secure a visit from the famous Flying Scotsman for the 2026 early spring half term holiday period. On Saturday 14th February and Saturday 21st February, the locomotive was booked for three return trips between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon and from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th February it is expected to perform five out and back runs each day to unspecified locations; most likely Dorridge. As expected, the first train proved very popular with travellers, enthusiasts and the general public, and we were blessed with good weather throughout. It was expected but unfortunate that 60103 was facing into Birmingham so I was able to secure only one run with the locomotive running chimney first. The second run did not leave Stratford until 16:52 by which time it was nearly dark and not worth the wait.
