On only our third visit to Northern Ireland we had the opportunity to see The Portrush Flyer" on Sunday 21st August 2016. It was a day of variable weather and both locations I visited were somewhat spoiled by rain. However nothing could detract from the sight of the unique operational British three cylinder compound 4-4-0. No. 85 MERLIN, at work with a real train giving pleasure to so many people.
