"The Merchant of Avon" is the name used by West Coast Railways for an excursion train between Burton-upon-Trent and Stratford-upon-Avon. The previous run, on 11th August, was so wet that I did not even contemplate going out but the 25th August 2019 was extremely hot with continuous sunshine throughout the day.
