It had been my intention to photograph "The Welsh Borders Explorer" near Leaton but, on arrival, I found that it had passed about ten minutes early. I moved to a location near Walcot hoping that steam would be booked to follow a regular service after Shrewsbury. The sight of the four car DMU came as a relief. The early running by steam was to no avail.
