The original plan for Sunday 28th July 2019 was to photograph "The Merchant of Avon" excursion. However, three factors mitigated against that decision. There was no announcement of the motive power, the proposed return trip to Snow Hill at lunchtime was apparently cancelled and the weather in the morning was truly awful. The backstop was an afternoon visit to the GCR to see the final runs with 48624 before its 'ticket' ran out on 31st July. Not only did I record the 8Fs but also what may have been the first run by D8098 since its latest overhaul was completed. Nice one Dave! But it rained all afternoon.
