Thursday 28th December 2017 was a cold winter day with strong wind, few clouds and much blue sky. Almost ideal for photographing trains. Much of the country had been seriously disrupted by snow the previous day but the GCR was affected only by frost; much to the disappointment of those that had travelled some distance through snow to see the trains.
