27th October 2018 was one of those days that is better forgotten. I set off from home on a bright frosty morning heading for Carlisle to photograph a train on the S & C. A puncture at Stoke, where it was snowing, left me with insufficient time to reach Appleby so I returned home, planning to visit Loughborough after buying two new tyres. By now it was raining hard, very dull and bitterly cold. Eight shots in awful conditions were a waste of time; but at least I tested some new equipment.
