The visit to the GCR on Saturday 27th November 2021 was planned but to a different timetable. Having waited at Ratcliffe-on-Soar until the main line special had passed I didn't arrive at Loughborough until it was too late to photograph the returning 12:00 from Leicester North. But I was able to see that the only steam locomotive in service was Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 46521 which faces north at present. It was easy to make decisions. It had to be an afternoon photographing the DMU as the only possible steam shot was when the diner returned chimney leading. Bacon sandwiches became my first priority.
