I had never intended to visit the GCR on Saturday 14th March 2020. However the news that a landslide on the Cumbrian Coast had led to the day's steam excursion being re-routed was not the main reason for abandoning my plans to go north. It was the total lack of consistent information about the revised train times! The safe option was yet another visit to the GCR.
