An unexpected start to the May-Day Bank Holiday weekend was a special event to commemorate 50 years since the last trains were operated by British Railways over the now preserved section of the GCR line. A two car DMU has been created in 1969 blue livery with 2 character reporting number panels; one vehicle has a full yellow driving end and the other has a small yellow panel.
