It was a pleasant surprise when the ECS working from Loughborough to Quorn appeared under the occupation bridge, GCR No.336, hauled by Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 6990 WITHERSLACK HALL on Sunday 2nd August 2020. I had expected the train to be worked by 78018 which would have been tender first for the up run. Apparently 78018 had failed and 6990 came to the rescue.
