Sunday 25th February 2024 was the final day that the BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 92214 would be in use on public passenger trains for some considerable time. It 10-year ticket expires at the end of the month and no plans have been made to schedule the major overhaul that is required. It was too good to miss this opportunity to capture a few final images at some accessible locations that I used to use but have neglected of late. In my opinion 92214 has been a very successful addition to the GCR fleet. It will be surely missed and, again in my opinion, delaying the overhaul indefinitely will prove to be a very significant mistake by the Railway’s Management.
