"The Cumbrian Mountain Express" on Saturday 23rd July 2016 promised to be a very good day out with haulage by 46233 DUCHESS OF SUTHERLAND between Crewe and Carlisle over Shap in both directions. All went well until a nasty fall for Val resulted in a dislocated left elbow, a prolonged visit to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and a very late return home.
