The third day of the 2023 GCR Winter Steam Gala was probably the best for two reasons. The sun shone for much of the day and the issues, whatever they were, that had caused severe delays to trains on Friday afternoon and throughout Saturday had been resolved and almost all trains ran close to booked working timetable times. Some delays occurred due to the failure of the diesel locomotive as allowances had not been made to enable steam locomotives with small capacity tenders to take on extra water. Overall, it had been a successful Gala and I believe everyone that visited had had an enjoyable time.
