On what I expected to be its last run on Sunday 12th July 2020, NER Autocar No.3170 was viewed from the shadow side between the pipe-bridge, No.346, and Rushey Lane, No.345, as it returned from Rothley to Loughborough. As I packed my equipment away, I was amazed to find it stopped on the up line by bridge 345 for no apparent reason making yet another run to Rothley and back.
