I quickly relocated to Quorn expecting to see the Autocar as it returned from Rothley. Eventually the Standard 5 returned tender first of course with the ECS so I assumed that the NER railcar had run ahead and I had missed the opportunity to record it with Quorn Station in the background. With clear evidence that the diesel locomotive hauling the ECS had left Loughborough I relocated the camera to see it approach Quorn. It came as a total shock when I heared the Autocar behind me! My attempt to photograph 3170 was a complete failure as I had not set the shutter correctly but I had time to put it right before the diesel loco arrived. To my surprise BR Sulzer Type 4 1Co-Co1 D123 LEICESTERSHIRE AND DERBYSHIRE YEOMANRY was in charge of the timetabled 16:30 ECS from Loughborough to Leicester North and was photographed passing the crossover immediately north of Quorn and Woodhouse on Sunday 12th July 2020.
