Sunday 1st January, New Years Day, 2023 had a reasonably good weather forecast, dry with sunny periods, that suggested a few acceptably good shots might be obtained from the very limited timetable. That’s exactly how it worked out; three locations, four trains and a bacon butty for good measure. And something I thought I should never report. A train departed from Leicester North before the booked time! I’ll lay odds they were not selling refreshments on New Year’s Day.
