The late May Bank Holiday Weekend services on the GCR followed the normal pattern with two steam locomotives running the trains and a display, consisting of an out of steam locomotive and a diesel shunter, at Quorn. The trains were light and small locomotives were appropriate. Unfortunately J94 68067 was experiencing problems and ran increasingly late as the day progressed. Clearly there was an issue and I heard that it was to be replaced the next day with Stanier 8F 48305. Shame they didn't do that before as the 8F is far more photogenic.
