Sunday 19th July 2020 saw the final round of testing in preparation for the resumption of GCR passenger services on Saturday 25th July 2020. The trains were all diesel hauled using BR Sulzer Type 2 Bo-Bo D5185 on coaching stock and ex-NER Autocar No.3170 for DMU crews. For those that pay attention to detail, the first up train from Quorn ran as a Class 2 ordinary passenger train carrying Volunteers and Friends who travelled free of charge to assist with train crew training.
