I was tempted back to the GCR on 13th January 2018 by two features in the internet build-up. I could not resist welcoming back the Ivatt Class 2 to the railway after its visit to the northern section over the Christmas/New Year period. Also the weather forecast for Saturday afternoon was quite good and significantly better than the prospect for Sunday. The Ivatt lived up to expectations but the weather was atrocious!
