I visited the Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam-up 2021 event on Friday 16th April with my friend and fellow photographer Denis King. The main attraction at the event was to see 2999 LADY OF LEGEND at work with a real train. The freedom to escape the long delays due to Covid-19 restrictions was more than an added bonus; it was, to be honest, a great relief to be out in the fresh air on a very nice spring day. I think we both needed some camera practice after such a long delay. I hope that things will continue to improve but there are great dangers to be negotiated, particularly with foreign holidays and relaxed opening of licensed premises.

The mirror lens will produce different results to what you are used to. They are not particularly known for their great sharpness and I think, perform best in very good light. So, it is a tool which you will need to practice with, to obtain the best results. However, I do believe it can provide interesting and different images, which will enhance your collection.
