On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August 2024 the Great Central Railway ran a gala type special event called Railways at Work. It was one of the biggest events of its type for many years and I hope it was the commercial success it deserved to be. I took the view that I was a train spotter again and found a satisfactory location to just watch and photograph the trains as they passed by. Lunch was sandwiches, crisps and pop almost like sixty seven years ago. (Sadly, no Tizer could be found.) Then, after lunch, I let the trains roll past again just as I did back in 1957. It was splendid – thank you GCR.
