At first thought my visit to the GCR on Sunday 11th July 2021 was just another regular visit to the line with nothing special expected. It was transformed when 45305 appeared on the first train of the day. A short while ago a problem arose with this locomotive which has only a short time remaining before it must be withdrawn for overhaul. It was expected that repair would be uneconomic. To have 45305 and 48305 in steam on the same day was a real bonus and quite made my day.
