I took the opportunity to visit the GCR on Sunday 1st Novenber 2020 as it might prove to be the last time the Railway is open until Easter 2021. That may be a pessimistic view but I feel the evidence suggests otherwise. The only steam locomotive in service was the north facing Stanier Class 8F 48305 and the diesel service was provided by the 3-car Metro-Cammell DMU. The weather forecast was not good but the showers held off until the afternoon and were not too disruptive.
