On Saturday 16th June 2018 Saphos Trains ran "The Welsh Marches Express" between Crewe and Cardiff for the second time. Motive power was modified light pacific 34052 LORD DOWDING. I was able to photograph only the return run, by which time the light was beginning to fail. It was worth the effort just to see the train as the locomotive is enjoying a period of strong, reliable performance in mid-2018.
