On Sunday 16th June 2024 “The Shakespeare Express returned to its regular format with two return trips between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stratford-upon-Avon. Outward journeys as usual were over the North Warwickshire line through Henley-in-Arden returning on the down main through Dorrridge after taking the curve avoiding Hatton Station. There was a rumour on the internet that Tyseley would deploy both Castles; 5043 and 7029. One on the first train and the other on the second. That sounded to me like economic folly and I was delighted that 7029 CLUN CASTLE worked both trains. It had seemed like a long time since I photographed Clun so I was very happy with my trip.
