Sunday 28th January 2018 was the final day of the GCR Winter Steam Gala. It turned out to have the best light of the entire event with almost continuous sun until mid afternoon. Both guest engines were supported by six locomotives from the home fleet and the DMU made a few trips to fulfil the very busy timetable. 2018 was certainly a very good Winter Gala for the railway's image and I hope it was a financial success.
