As I expected from the weekend weather forecast, the morning of Sunday 6th June 2021 dawned dull and damp with intermittent rain showers. When I arrived at the lineside about 09:50 the Loughborough up advanced starter was 'off' but nothing moved for a considerable time and, as on the previous day, it was the late running down freight that first passed my location. Very soon after the first steam appeared but with only one locomotive. Something had obviously gone wrong and it would take some time before trains could run as scheduled. Gradually the weather improved so use the captions for the individual pictures to discover how things progressed.
