My visit to the GCR on Sunday 15th June 2025 was very brief, lasting less than two hours. What is worse my intended group of ten images was reduced to eight by forgetting to switch on a camera – not once but twice and not the same camera on both occasions! It must have something to do with being over 80 or is that just an excuse. Anyway, it was a lovely afternoon with two steam locomotives and a two car DMU that were all types familiar to the old GC in the 1960s. Oh! Why do DMU drivers continuously choose impossible destinations when Nottingham, Loughborough, Leicester, Lutterworth and Rugby would all be appropriate and in period?
